Samsung at CES 2022 - Innovation Awards and New Products

Samsung is no stranger to bringing big and exciting products to CES, and CES 2022 is no different. This year, Samsung has several new products, from phone sensors to cutting edge new monitors. Samsung has also been honored for several CES Innovation Awards, an award given by CES to recognize products with exceptional design, innovation, and engineering.

Several Samsung products have been highlighted for the CES Innovation Awards Honorees for the 2022 conference. The first of these is the Samsung 512GB DDR5 RDIMM, which offers the improved stability of a registered dual in-line memory module (RDIMM) in a size currently unheard of, even in high end memory designed for servers.

Two Samsung SSDs were also highlighted for the award. The PM1743 is currently the fastest and largest capacity SSD available based on the PCIe Gen5 interface, available in up to 16TB. The other is Samsung’s ZNS SSD, the first SSD supporting Zoned Namespace technology, which increases the lifespan and efficiency of the SSD.

The Samsung ISOCELL HP1 mobile image sensor garnered an award as well. This 200 megapixel camera uses 4x4 pixel-binning technology to produce high resolution images that retain quality in low light conditions. The camera can also capture videos of up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second.

Samsung also brought several new products to CES 2022. The Freestyle is a portable projector announced at CES 2022, which connects to your smartphone via bluetooth. The projector has built in speakers, and automatically adjusts the screen size and focus, even at an angle. The Freestyle is already up for preorders, and is selling for $899.

The other big product revealed by Samsung is the Odyssey Ark, the newest in Samsung’s line of ultrawide curved monitors. The Odyssey Ark boasts a 55 inch screen, with 16:9 aspect ratio. The 16:9 aspect ratio can be adjusted with a remote that lets you add multiple inputs to the screen and adjust their aspect ratio on the fly. The kicker is that the Ark is the first ultrawide curved monitor which can be rotated vertically. This “cockpit-style” display offers new ways to set up multi-window workstations or new gameplay experiences. The price point and release window have not yet been announced, but the Ark is sure to be a game changer when it releases.
